I like seeing people improve their lives with technology. These improvements can happen in little ways, such as Skylight cameras for your loved ones or a “re-order previous” button on your favorite restaurant’s takeout app, and in big ways, like new subway stops and firefighting drones.

I work in data, where I help people interpret records of things that have happened. I think you can technically call all data people historians? Or perhaps they are better defined as archivists who maintain records for historians. And a historian is anybody who wants to be nowadays. In any case, I strive to make history accessible through software. At heart, I enjoy seeing how well-presented information encourages good questions.

Currently, I am a Product Advocate at Metabase—a tool that makes it easy to explore numerical data. Prior to Metabase, I worked for the Free Library of Philadelphia, Citizen Codex, the Alameda County Community Food Bank, and the mobile app Lirica, which taught languages through music.
